Blooming Lamp

Hey guys! I jumped on the band wagon and made a "blooming lamp" as Kara calls it head over to her blog and check out her awesome tutorial.  I had this extra urn vase and lamp laying around so I decided to put it to use. I made a spring arrangement and I think I will change this out as the seasons go.
*All photos enlarge when clicked on*

Here are some close- ups of the arrangement.

Here is how it looks with the light off. I love how it turned out! I put this in the same room where my entertainment center is and it matches my runner I love it!!

Well thats it for today guys I hope you enjoyed my Blooming Lamp. I am joining Carrie, Susan, Kara and  Marty. If I find anymore parties I can join I will be sure to add to them. Have a great day!!

A Few Changes

Hey Guys! I have made a few changes to my formal living room and thought I would share them with you.
I added this iron piece and some ivy to the candle holders. I felt like they needed something and I wanted to pull out the green from the picture.

I bought some ivy garland from Michael's and just wrapped it around the candle holder. I'm still deciding if I like it or not so let me know what you think.

I added some things to the end tables. I made a frame for myself like the one thats in my etsy store. I think its so cute!! :)

I have had these keys from Pottery Barn for almost a year now and haven't done anything with them so I decided to hang them on my lamp for now until I can think of something to do with them.

I had this monogrammed pillow in the our other living room I like it out here better.

I added another iron piece over the window. I think the room is starting to feel complete. I still need to get an area rug and
a rug for in front of the door.

I am looking for an accent chair to go here. I really like one I saw at Hobby Lobby its a gold and black zebra print parson chair.

I added this clock by the front door.

Here is another view of the entry way.

Well that's it for today guys. I hope you enjoyed your visit. Have a great weekend!!! I am linking to Debbie's Newbie Linky Party!

Meet Rexy & Walter

Hey everyone! I am joining Debbie for her Pet Party!

Meet Rexy she is our Boston Terrier. She is 4 years old and was our first (baby) :).

Here she is the day we brought her home. She has one blue eye and one brown which is unique for her breed. The breeder we got her from has two females and one male and she said every time the one female has puppies one ends up with a blue eye.

She loves to snore, sleep and pass gas yes I just said that! :)

Here she is doing what she does best giving kisses with little baby Jack who was 5 months in this picture he is so chubby I miss his rolls :)

Now, Meet Walter he is our Maltese who is 1. I used to work as a Hairstylist and one of my clients whom I still do her hair from home gave him to us a week before Christmas. He was very neglected, they always had him in a kennel (which he hates with a siring passion) or outside. He does like to bark which is annoying, but they had a shocking bark collar on him which created scabs on his throat because they never took it off of him. Poor doggy. He is very much a people person kind of dog he wont even go outside unless you go with him. I think he has adjusted to us very well.

We just went and got his haircut yesterday, poor dog was so matted from not being brushed they had to cut his hair so  short!

Here is what he looked like when we first got him.

Well, that's it for today guys. I hope you enjoyed meeting my pets! Have a great week!

Entertainment Nook

Today I'm gonna show you guys a sneak peak of my living room decor. This room is a work in progress but I am happy with it so far. I see everyone in blog land scrunching up runners so I thought I would try this idea and I love it!! I've had this runner laying around for awhile and just haven't known what to do with it. There is no other place for our electronic equipment to go so I had to improvise and try and make it look as best as possible. What do you guys think?

I was just at Hobby Lobby the other day and saw this and loved it. You are supposed to hang it on the wall but I
decided to use it as a charger.

I am a little OCD when it comes to things being balanced so I've added the same items on either side.

Well thats it for today guys I hope you enjoyed your visit I am linking up to Marty, Susan, Carrie, Kara, Kim and Mary

The Heart Of The Home

Hey Guys! First off I am Debbie Doos first feature! How exciting!! Go visit her to read the post. Today I am going to take you through a tour of my kitchen. This is the view from our main living room.

Here are some close ups of what is above the cabinets. I bought the plates and arrangement from Kirkland's. The plate holder is from Hobby Lobby and the decorative boxes came from Home Goods.

I bought the wicker rooster from Fry's Marketplace of all places! Vases from TJ Maxx and plaque from Kirkland's.

The Vase is from Target, Clock is from Burlington's and Fleur de lis is from Kirkland's

The greenery arrangement is from Hobby Lobby, The Wine Rack is from Target, The Roosters are from Michael's and the Plaque is from Kirkland's.

On my island I have my new Pioneer Woman cookbook and rooster Paula Deen stand I got for Christmas. In the metal container I just added some faux fruit and herbs.

This is my coffee station. The coffee mugs, tray and fleur de lis night light are from Kirkland's, The green container and rooster bowl came from Ross. My mom bought all of us this cute Starbuck's canister for Christmas. I believe she got them from Bed Bath & Beyond. I store my coffee in here, I love Dunkin Donuts Cinnamon Spice its the BEST! :)

I added this red cheetah lamp that I got from Kirkland's. I have the same one in my guest bathroom. I added a rooster tassel that Kristen made. I love her etsy store she is one talented girl! Go check her out.

The canister's and utensil holder came from Target. The paper towel holder, cutting board and doggy treat canister are from Kirkland's. The leopard night light is from Hobby Lobby and my margaritaville margarita machine is from Bed Bath & Beyond love it!!

The wine print came from Michael's. I found it on clearance for 12 dollars! The knife, fork and spoon are from Hobby Lobby.

I got the valances from Target.

Here's a close up of mr. rooster I got him at Hobby Lobby.

Here is my table, this used to be oak and I stained it a dark mahogany. I used minwax polyshades bombay mahogany. This took about 4 coats, you just paint it on like paint and let it fully dry between coats. I recovered the chairs as well. The fabric came from JoAnn's.

Here is a close up of the arrangement, I had Kristen make me a custom arrangement. I love it! The candle holders are from Hobby Lobby and the runner is from Ross.

I got this baker's rack from Kirkland's I love all of the scrolls on it.

Everything you see here was purchased from Kirkland's except for the fleur de lis candle holder which is from Michael's.

The two apothecary jars are from Hobby Lobby. I plan to put some faux fruit in the rooster one and then wine corks in the other.  The topiary is from Walmart. The rooster pitcher is from Michael's and the rooster container is from Ross.

The picture frames and fleur de lis orbs are from Kirkland's. The bowl is from Target.

Below are some different angles of the Kitchen and Dining area.

Above do you see that big BEAUTIFUL white patch in the ceiling? UGHHHHH We are renting this house and the day we moved in someone went to the bathroom upstairs and BAM there is magically a leak in our ceiling! The landlord had all new tile put in the house and it turns out the landlord's brother in law put the toilets back on and didn't put wax rings on so we ended up with two leaks, one right here and the other above our pantry. What an annoyance that was. We had two big space heaters on either side blowing hot air into our gaping holes in the ceiling so it wouldn't grow mold. Mind you it was the end of October so it was still pretty hot here in AZ. The guys told me that the heat could get up to 110 degrees yeahhh very hot! Not only is it hard to move, but to deal with all of this was awful especially when you have a 1 year old. Anyhow we are just waiting for someone to get out here to paint the ceiling so we are stuck with this nice eye sore until then.

Here is our pantry it is enormous and I love it! I store all of our serving dishes and extra appliances in here. I got the metal topper from Hobby Lobby.

Lastly, I got these wine prints from Kirkland's for Christmas.

Well, thats it for today! I hope that you enjoyed your visit of my kitchen. Stay tuned I am going to be opening up my etsy store this weekend so be sure to stop back and check out my new items.
Have a great weekend!
